Attend chamber open house on Thursday, Oct. 23, for chance at spot on guide cover
Three lucky chamber members attending the annual Chamber of Commerce open house at the Howell chamber will win a featured spot on the cover of the chamber’s annual membership guide. In addition, they will be featured on the inside of the guide.
The event will also introduce the new Chamber Cash gift certificate program to the membership.
The open house, set for 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, will also feature drinks, music, food, prize drawings and networking opportunities. There is no cost to attend.
“We are excited about the open house,” said Pat Convery, president of the chamber. “In addition to tours of the building, prize drawings, refreshments and networking, we’ll be unveiling our new Chamber Cash gift certificate program. It’s ‘shop local’ at its most basic, and it promotes our community.”
And some lucky attendees will win Chamber Cash of their own to spend with merchants who’ve signed up with the program. Already accepting the certificates are Diamond’s Steak and Seafood, Where the Wild Things Grow, Country Lane Flower Shops, Casa De Bella, Heart of Michigan, Holly Candle Shoppe and Howell Western Wear. There are new retailers are signing up daily.
Chamber of Commerce Month in Michigan recognizes chambers for the roles they play in their local communities, their work as advocates for business, and their dedication to the improvement of their communities.
The Howell chamber has four lines of business: advocacy, community improvement, member services and economic development. Formed in 1949, the chamber has grown from a small, strictly volunteer organization to a membership base of approximately 700, with a staff of seven.
“Since 1949, the Howell chamber has led Livingston County on business, economic and quality of life issues,” Convery said. “Today, our members and the community continue to support the chamber in its efforts to represent business interests throughout the area.”
In conjunction with the open house, the chamber is also hosting a Networking Up To Speed workshop from 3- 4:30 p.m.
“The Howell chamber is one of the largest networking groups in the area, and we encourage business professionals to tap into these resources and connections,” said membership director Kim Esper. “Bring your business cards to share with the group and let us know who you’d like to meet.”
There is no cost to attend the workshop or the open house. To RSVP, contact the chamber at 517.546.3920 or email@example.com.
