Celebrate U event – featuring food, fun and music – set for Saturday, Sept. 26
The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Livingston Diversity Council to present a unique day of diverse performers, food and family-friendly fun from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, on the lawn of the historical Livingston County Courthouse in downtown Howell. St. Joseph Mercy Livingston is the Premier Sponsor of this event.
Performances will include Neil Woodward, Michigan’s Troubador; Latin music; belly dancing; African Drumming, and a Chinese lion dance. In addition to the exciting live performances, there will be great food and other fun activities in this first-ever event of its kind in Livingston County. Organized by the Livingston Diversity Council in partnership with the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, this family-friendly event will raise funds for the council’s educational activities, scholarships and county-specific, diversity-related programs.
“It’s going to be a great day celebrating all the diversity around us,” said Nicole Matthews-Creech, president of the Livingston Diversity Council. “In addition to all the fun that’s planned, the funds we raise will help us provide programs in the community.”
Any groups or individuals wishing to participate in Celebrate U should contact Matthews-Creech at (517) 522-8151.
