Counting down to opening day for Howell’s Sunday Farmers’ Market
It’s one of the surest signs of spring: The Howell Farmers’ Market opens for the 2014 season on Sunday, May 4.
Horse-drawn carriage rides delight Howell’s Sunday Farmers’ Market-goers during last year’s opening day festivities.
To celebrate the beginning of another wonderful market season, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts, herbs, bedding plants, flowers, vegetables for gardens, locally raised meats and baked goods. On hand for opening day festivities will be Martha’s Original Mackinac Island Fudge, one of the market’s newest vendors.
Located on State and Clinton streets, adjacent to the historic Livingston County Courthouse in the heart of downtown Howell, the market runs 9 a.m to 2 p.m. every Sunday from May 4 through Oct. 26. The market showcases over 70 local growers, agricultural producers, artisans and crafts-people.
Back as major sponsor of the market this year is First National Bank, with returning media sponsor the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus. The market is hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Howell, and Howell Mainstreet and Downtown Development Authority.
