Great Pumpkin Classic Car Show raises $14K for Salvation Army

The sixth annual Great Pumpkin Classic Car Show was a huge success!

The show, hosted by Paulson’s Construction on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Tanger Outlet Center in Howell, was attended by over 300 vehicles – record attendance for the show.  The beautiful summer-like weather brought cars, trucks and motorcycles out from all over. Vehicles were judged by their peers in 20 classes, and 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place winners were awarded trophies.  Also, official judges selected award winners for 5 other special trophies including best of show and a veteran’s award.  The first 200 entrants received goody bags and dash plaques, and all entrants were eligible for the wonderful door prizes donated by our sponsors. Children enjoyed playing in the red bucket bounce house provided by the Salvation Army, while great music provided by Mr. Music DJ Service was enjoyed by all.

As a result of the generosity of our entrants, sponsors and in-kind donations, we were able to raise over $14,000 for the Livingston County Salvation Army. The Salvation Army provides many vital services to our local community from rent and utilities assistance to disaster relief and elderly services. They also run many, many other valuable programs.

This event would not have been possible without the help of our sponsors. These companies have shown their commitment to our community with their generosity. They are Art Ventures (Brighton), Morrison Industrial Equipment (Brighton), My Crate Motor.com (Howell), Paulson’s Construction (Howell), the Tanger Outlet Center (Howell), Wilson Tent Services, Co. (Howell), and Accutemp Heating and Cooling (Howell), We’re So Tired (Howell), and Pratt & Miller (New Hudson).

Don’t miss next year’s show, so mark your 2014 calendars for the second Saturday in October (Oct. 11, 2014). We are all looking forward to a great seventh annual Great Pumpkin Classic Car Show!
