Howell Area Chamber of Commerce among those to be recognized at Michigan Works! Southeast outstanding workforce and economic development awards celebration
Michigan Works! Southeast Congratulates Award Winners, including Howell Area Chamber of Commerce for Outstanding Workforce Development Program in Livingston County
Local legislators, businesses and community members will celebrate the success of our region’s workforce development system on Friday, April 7th, 2017 in a ceremony at Weber’s Inn, Ann Arbor. During this event, sixteen awards will be presented to program alumni, workforce professionals, workforce programs, businesses and volunteers.
Sean Duval, CEO of Golden Limousine and Chair of the Michigan Works! Southeast Workforce Development Board says “this ceremony allows us the opportunity to focus on the accomplishments of the award recipients, while demonstrating outstanding passion for workforce development.” The Workforce Development Board is a private sector board that oversees workforce development in our region.
All winners will be honored at the Michigan Works! Southeast Awards Celebration on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Weber’s, Ann Arbor. 4 award categories (list) “It was hard to complete the review and ratings. They are all winners in my mind having overcome so many adversities,” stated Swatee Kulkarni, Executive VP, GDI Infotech.
During this event we will recognize 16 award recipients who have made extraordinary contributions to workforce development, exemplifying the highest standards by promoting community efforts, to make our community a great place to live, work and prosper.
Among the award winners are 7 area residents who successfully overcame the challenges associated with making a career change. “We are excited to celebrate their success and accomplishments. This year’s winners have overcome remarkable obstacles to reach their goals,” shared William Sleight, Director of Michigan Works! Southeast.
Michigan Works! Southeast is part of a statewide network of organizations that contributes to the economic prosperity of our communities by developing a strong, talented workforce. The agency serves businesses and jobseekers in the counties of Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston and Washtenaw.
