Howell Area Chamber of Commerce awarded at Michigan Works! Southeast Awards Ceremony
At a breakfast ceremony in Ann Arbor on Friday, April 7, Howell Area Chamber of Commerce was awarded ‘Outstanding Workforce Development Program’ for the Livingston County busing initiative that began in the fall of 2015. Th bus initiative came about as a collaborative effort because several Livingston County manufacturers were having difficulty filling labor positions. In an effort to employ workers in Flint, buses were scheduled with MTA and local HR leaders to bring the Flint workers to Howell for their shifts and back home to Flint at shift change.
This award was made possible by Jeff Rey of Express Employment Professionals who nominated the Howell Chamber, MTA, Tribar Manufacturing, local HR representatives from our business members and by the new Livingston Transportation Coalition.
