Howell Art Project returns this summer
The Howell Art Project, an art competition featuring local and national artists, will return this summer to downtown Howell. The winners’ original artwork will be reproduced and exhibited on an exterior wall within the downtown during the summer.
The DDA Design Committee is looking for artists to submit original, two-dimensional artwork with the theme “Four Seasons” for one or more of the following categories: Spring, Fall, Summer, and Winter.
“We are pleased to bring this popular event back to downtown Howell.” said Main Street DDA Director Cathleen Edgerly. “Not only will our residents and visitors benefit by being exposed to some fantastic artwork, but the businesses can also become involved by having the winning pieces of artwork displayed on their building year-round. This Project has brought many people downtown in the past, and we look forward to the artists’ original pieces further beautifying our downtown district.”
This project is open to all visual artists working in two-dimensional media. Artists are free to use any material in the production of his or her original artwork provided that the original work is able to be digitally reproduced in a flat presentation. All applications must be postmarked by 5 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015.
