‘It’s All About the Kids’ gala on Feb. 22 benefits Howell Education Foundation
A seven-day trip to England, “fighter pilot school,” duck hunting on Lake St. Clair and a breakfast flight for two to a Michigan destination are just a few of the experiences up for auction at the “It’s All About the Kids” Gala on Feb. 22 at Crystal Gardens in Howell.
More than 40 exclusive auction items, dozens of Super Silent Auction items, presentations and performances by Howell School students, a plated dinner and more are scheduled, with proceeds benefitting the work of the Howell Education Foundation.
“This is a chance for the Howell Public Schools to shine, for our community to learn about the Foundation’s work and for friends to gather for a fun night out,” said Dan Cortez, president of the Howell Education Foundation. “We’ll have a showcase of student achievements, performances by choir and jazz band students and an amazing live auction.”
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a showcase of work by HPS students. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and the Live Auction will begin at 8 p.m. For a full schedule of events and to purchase tickets for the gala, visit www.howelleducationfoundation.com, or call 517.579.8555.

In past years the Foundation has funded home-building projects for the high school’s building trades classes, grants to teachers, installed 40 iPads in 8th grade classrooms at Highlander Way and Parker middle schools, provided more than $12,000 in funding for the Reaching Higher programs at the high school and created a speakers bureau in cooperation with the Howell Interact Club.
