Learn about Community Ventures subsidies that could be available for hiring
You are invited to learn about Community Ventures, a program coordinated by the MEDC that helps area employers and job seekers in the high poverty areas of Flint, Saginaw, Pontiac and Detroit. Because many companies in Livingston County are currently hiring large numbers of workers from Flint, Community Ventures funding may be available as a wage subsidy.
Candice Braddock, Community Ventures project coordinator for Flint, will be on hand to explain the program, and how it may benefit your company. She will also explain the possibility of a transportation partnership to help eligible Flint participants get to Livingston County companies by bus.
Eligible companies must offer full-time, permanent positions that pay at least $10 per hour. Eligible participants are those who have had extended unemployment, but desire to work. Support services will be provided to help individuals with employability and job retention.
Plan to attend a short meeting at at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Livingston County Michigan Works!, 1240 Packard Drive, Howell.
