Learn the latest on health insurance and Obamacare at the March 6 Livingston Economic Club event
The Affordable Care Act is the topic of both a workshop and the Livingston Economic Club luncheon set for March 6 at The Johnson Center at Cleary University.
The Michigan State University Extension Service will provide a workshop beginning at 10:15 a.m. on how to calculate individual health insurance needs.
While the recent healthcare reform legislation means millions of Americans have more health insurance options than ever before, some are overwhelmed when it comes to understanding the Affordable Care Act, and making important decisions about health insurance.
Workshop articipants will learn how to analyze what they need and want from healthcare providers, compare plans, and calculate how health insurance will affect their household budget. They will also learn to apply the information and knowledge gained to make a smart choice about purchasing health insurance and using health care systems. A consumer workbook will be provided.
The LEC luncheon begins at noon.
The keynote speaker is Nick Tate, author of “ObamaCare Survival Guide.”
Tate will present an overview of how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will lead to major changes in the way consumers, small businesses and large firms plan, choose and pay for healthcare and insurance.
