McShane & Bowie P.L.C. welcome new attorneys, Norman Hawkins and Jennifer Brougham
McShane & Bowie is pleased to announce the addition of two new attorneys to our team. Please join us in welcoming Norman Hawkins and Jennifer Brougham to McShane & Bowie.
Norm joined McShane & Bowie as a Partner. He is a labor and employment attorney with over 30 years’ experience representing management. Norm spent ten years with the Honigman Firm in Detroit and most recently practiced with Barnes & Thornburg in Grand Rapids. Norm’s expertise on complex federal labor law, wage-hour, and employment matters has made him a great addition to our team. Norm provides proactive advice to employers of all sizes concerning all labor and employment matters, and prepares all related documents. He has first-chair jury trial experience and has handled appeals in state and federal courts. In addition, he has acted as chief spokesperson for companies during union negotiations, has defended unfair labor practice charges, and has handled arbitrations. He trains management and supervisors on labor and employment law issues, including union avoidance. Beyond his daily legal practice, Norm is involved in professional legal associations, trains business leaders on labor and employment topics, and previously taught federal administrative law at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Jennifer, who joined the firm in August of 2016, is supporting the Litigation and Business & Corporate practice areas as an Associate Attorney. Jennifer received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and graduated from law school at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to attending law school, Jennifer acquired extensive business experience while working in the medical device and oil & gas industries. In addition, she served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force, where she attained the rank of Captain.
Norm and Jennifer will provide substantial support to the firm’s Labor & Employment, Litigation, and Business & Corporate Law practices.
