MIOSHA General Industry 10-Hour + set for July 9-11
The three-day MIOSHA General Industry 10-Hour + runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, July 9-11, at the Howell Chamber of Commerce Foundation Building, 123 E. Washington St., in downtown Howell. Check-in is at 8:30 a.m.
Cost for the training is $240 per person and includes lunch and course materials. Certification/maintenance points are available. This is a required class for General Industry Level One MTI certification.
Many employers need to have workers perform new or multiple job functions. It is essential staff understand the importance of safety and health management, and the underlying effect it has on business. This three-day training offers the resources and tools to create or enhance an effective safety and health management system, a review of the MIOSHA Act, and highlights of many general industry safety and health standards.
The agenda includes accident investigation, ergonomics, first aid, MIOSHA visits, hazard recognition and self inspection, CET services, record-keeping, hearing conservation, safety and health management systems, introduction to industrial hygiene, and required writing programs.
The seminar will be facilitated by Karen Odell, a senior occupational safety consultant working in Oakland County as a consultant and trainer for employers and employees.
