Realtors, Gleaners teaming up to help the hungry
The Livingston County Association of Realtors and Gleaners Community Food Bank are partnering to collect food and money during the 14th annual Fill the Gazebo Food Drive, which runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in what is Livingston County’s largest food drive
Over 70 local Realtors and affiliate members will be working at several drop-off locations including Kroger, VG’s Food Center, and GFS Marketplace in Brighton; Kroger and VG’s Grocery in Howell; and Kroger in Hartland and Hamburg. There will be drive-up and drop-off lanes in downtown Brighton in front of the Millpond and in front of the Livingston County Courthouse in downtown Howell to collect money and food items.
“As the local voice for real estate, LCAR members are in the community,” said Todd Buckley, president of LCAR. “ We live here, our kids go to school here, we attend church here and we know that even in a wonderful community like ours, there is need. The Livingston Gleaners Food Bank is a wonderful organization filling the gaps for families in our area.”
The goal is to collect $15,000 (which will equal 45,000 meals as $1 = three meals) and 5,000 pounds of food.
