Recycle Livingston celebrating Earth Day with two special recycling events

To celebrate Earth Day, Recycle Livingston is collecting tires from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, and hosting a paper shredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30.

Reservations are required for the tire event. Call 517.548.4439 and leave your name and the number of tires you will be recycling. Cost is $3 per car tire / $12 for large tires (tractor, semi, etc.) that are off the rim, and $5 per car tire and $14 per large tire on the rim.

Documents for the April 30 event will be shredded on site by American Data Securities. Members can bring two boxes for no charge, and non-members can bring two boxes for the $3 gate fee. Additional boxes will be shredded for $3 each. No reservations are required.

Recycle Livingston collected and responsibly recycled nearly 800,000 pounds of materials, and over 16,500 vehicles visited the collection site during 2015.

Recycle Livingston is a member-run, non-profit organization located at 170 Catrell St. in Howell. The site is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Non-members are always welcome for a small gate donation.
