Runway Repurposed looking for designers

The 6th Annual Runway Repurposed is searching for contestants to register for the unique, eco-friendly fashion design program hosted by the Livingston Arts Council. Registration is 4-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 6 and 7, at the Howell Opera House, 123 W. Grand River Ave. in downtown Howell.

The ‘fashion is art’ program will showcase the talent and creativity of registered participants for a public audience on Feb. 16 at the Johnson Center, Cleary University, Howell. Prizes will be awarded for categories and a People’s Choice.

Runway Repurposed is a fundraiser and competition combining fashion design with the use of recycled clothing. Beginner and advanced designers of all ages are welcome to register. At registration, designers will be able to choose items of donated clothing to recreate their own unique and original garment. All guidelines will be available at registration.
