Salvation Army kicking off coat collection, distribution

Starting Oct. 19 and running through Dec. 23, The Salvation Army of Livingston County Corps Building will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and 1:30-4 p.m. Monday through Friday for anyone in need of a warm coat this fall and winter.

In partnership with WHMI, The Salvation Army of Livingston County provides coats, hats, snow pants, boots, gloves and scarves to those in need. Individuals and families in need may “shop” through our selection of gently used and new winter items to receive one coat per family member.

We are seeking coats for all ages, infants through adults, as well as gloves, hats, boots, snow pants and scarfs. Donations of clean, gently used and new winter items will be accepted Nov. 1 through Christmas Eve at The Salvation Army Corps building or any WHMI Coats for Kids box.

Monetary donations can be brought in to The Salvation Army, 503 Lake St., in Howell; mailed to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 647, Howell, MI 48844; or online at www.salvationarmylivingston.org.
