St. Joseph Mercy Livingston ball to raise funds toward health care in local community

On Saturday, April 23, more than 300 guests will step into the festive atmosphere of the annual St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Ball, with the theme this year of Reaching for the Stars.

Similar to the excitement surrounding space exploration, this year’s Livingston Ball will honor that same transformational spirit and drive for technological advancement to celebrate the hospital’s future.

St. Joseph Mercy Livingston and Brighton health center are transforming the way health care is delivered to the community by developing an innovative short stay center for overnight care to fill the need between inpatient and outpatient care. The Brighton facility will expand services to include 18 private rooms equipped with advanced telemedicine services, offering patients more surgical options and testing services in a convenient location. In Howell, there will be new state-of-the-art operating rooms, renovation of inpatient units, enhanced wayfinding and expanded retail services.

The St. Joseph Mercy Livingston and Brighton transformation efforts aim to carry forward a long legacy of health care excellence in Livingston County.  Proceeds from this year’s event will help enhance telemedicine services, focusing on real-time video conferencing to allow patients’ access to medical specialists and round-the-clock monitoring.  Telemedicine is proven to foster rapid diagnosis and treatment, enhance safety and improve outcomes.

The evening begins at 6 p.m., when guests will be greeted at Crystal Garden to a setting that inspires innovation and celebrates transformation. Dinner will be catered by Crystal Gardens, followed by dancing to the sounds of Intrigue.

As an example of the leading technology that will be implemented at St. Joe’s Livingston health facilities, one of St. Joe’s partners — InTouch Health – will showcase the RP-VITA® robot.  This state-of-the-art robot will enable real-time patient monitoring and trigger remote intervention from physicians and other health care providers right at the bedside or exam room.

This year’s Presenting Sponsor with a $10,000 gift is Lake Trust Credit Union. Gold Sponsors, donating $7,500, include Anesthesia Associates of Ann Arbor; Huron Valley Radiology and IHA. Silver Sponsors, donating $5,000, include Advanced Medical Solutions and Emergency Physicians Medical Group. Bronze Sponsors, donating $2,500, include the George W.
