Survey says: Members highly satisfied with chamber
Results of the 2015 Howell Area Chamber of Commerce membership survey show that members continue to be overall pleased with the organization. Nearly 97 percent of those responding said they’d suggest Howell chamber membership to another business, and 90 percent of respondents agreed that the chamber fulfills its mission to be a catalyst for a vital business environment and an exceptional community.
“We appreciate the time members spent completing the survey,” said Pat Convery, president of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. “We were pleased that the results were overwhelmingly positive.”
Issues of important to members of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce in 2015 are the same as in the last survey in 2013: marketing/communication, competition, and managing business growth. And the top three reasons members join the chamber are for networking/business contacts, to support the community, and because the chamber advocates for business.
Once they become members, respondents said they like how they are treated. Of those completing the survey, over 90 percent said that when they made contact with the chamber they received excellent, very good or good treatment from staff, while just 1.1 percent said their treatment was fair. Not a single respondent reported poor treatment.
According to the survey, the social media of choice for members to keep up with the chamber is Facebook. The percentage of respondents who follow the chamber on Facebook alone was up by nearly 14 percent since the 2013 survey.
