The Torch celebrates two years of non-profit food work
The Torch is hosting a celebration of its first two years as a nonprofit organization from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at The Paul Bennett Recreation Center located at 925 W. Grand River Ave., Howell.
Events include a celebrity food truck cook-off competition between Jon & Mike from WHMI’s morning show; Renee Chodkowski, aka “The Great Foodini”; and Amanda and Ethan Whitesell from the Livingston Daily. A panel of judges will taste test the food and choose a winner based on taste and creativity. There will also be a fan-favorites competition whereby fans can vote for their favorite celebrity chefs(s) by donating money in voting jars.
In addition, there will be a silent auction and family-friendly activities throughout the day. All money raised at the celebration event will be used for the purchase of a minivan to be utilized as a utility vehicle for The Torch.
