United Way’s Triple Money Monday set for Dec. 16
All contributions made to the Livingston County United Way on Monday, Dec. 16, will be tripled up to $50,000. Several matching donors have stepped up to make “Triple Money Monday 2013” a reality.
Donations collected on Triple Money Monday are designated specifically to provide local families and individuals with the basics:
• Families are able to stay in their homes, with rent and utility assistance.
• Children get the nutrition they need to grow up healthy, through community gardens, food programs and a strong food pantry network.
• Individuals can connect to resources with the help of Resource Navigators, Community Resource Guides, Community Connect and more.
• Area seniors receive support services to retain their independence.
On a day-to-day basis, every dollar donated to the Livingston County United Way doubles in leveraged value through grants and partnerships.
“One of the things I appreciate, as a supporter of the Livingston County United Way, is their ability to leverage donations – through grants and partnerships $1 equals more than $2 in value,” said Kevin Brennan, 2013 Livingston County United Way President. “That makes the direct impact of a $100 donation on Triple Money Monday to over $600 in important community services. We want to extend our thanks to our very generous anonymous donor, the Howell Rotary’s Tour de Livingston, and Citizens Insurance Co. for combining forces to match funds for Triple Money Monday.”
Memorial or ‘in honor of’ gifts can be made to recognize special people this Christmas and certificates and receipts will be provided. Charitable year-end giving has distinct tax advantages and can be a potential way to reduce tax liabilities as all contributions are 100% tax deductible – and the dollars stay local – what’s raised in Livingston, stays in Livingston!
Donations can be made by cash, check, credit card, and online. Everyone is encouraged to contribute by calling the Livingston County United Way at 810.494.3000, going online at www.lcunitedway.org, or visiting drop-off locations throughout Livingston County, or by scanning the QR code located on flyers around the county as well as on our media partner websites.
